Tímea Tisza, M.D.
I received my diploma from Semmelweis
Medical School, Faculty of Medicine with a "summa cum laude"
grade in 1988. After graduation I started to work in the
Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Semmelweis Medical
School, and continued there for 11 years. My residency program
included 2 years at the dermato-oncology, immunology and
general dermatology divisions, as well as a training period
at the dermatology and venereology outpatient care institute
of district 8, Budapest. Beside the regular hospital ward
and outpatient clinic responsibilities as a clinical fellow
of the Department, I participated in patient case presentations,
tutored medical students in English and in Hungarian, gave
presentations at a number of conferences and authored scientific
publications.
With the cooperation of our Department and
the National Institute of Dermatology and Venereology, the
first STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases)
clinic of the country was launched in 1991; this provided
state-of-the-art diagnosis and management of infections transmitted
by sexual contact with an on-site laboratory background.
The clinic soon became highly popular among patients and
clinicians, since the accurate microbiological investigations
permitted targeted treatment and efficient management of
the patients. The Hungarian STD Society was founded in 1994
with myself being a founding member. The president of the
Society entrusted me with the editorship of the Society’s
publication, the Hungarian Archives of Venereology - a job
I fulfilled with great pleasure and enthusiasm until 2000.
In 1999 I decided to benefit from my professional experience
in a different area. Parting from the Department of Dermatology
I joined a private laboratory that was being formed at that
time, and continued my patient care activity in a private
clinic twice a week. This laboratory was committed to utilize
the most modern DNA-diagnostic techniques for the detection
of various infectious agents or genetic alterations, including
those causing STD. My job was to familiarize dermatologists/venerologists,
gynecologists, urologists and infectologists with the advantages
of these methods as well as to provide them with information
on the management of the infections that are thus detected.
In the meantime, I was involved in the organization of a
country-wide sample collection and transportation network.
In 2001, I and a couple of colleagues founded our own firm
called Biorep Health Provider Ltd for the marketing of laboratory
services and for the transportation of samples. We are now
the sample transportation and communication partner of Prodia
Diagnostic Corp, Laborigo Diagnostic Ltd and GenoID Ltd,
Hungary’s most renowned laboratory networks.
While I was happy to contribute, though indirectly, to the
diagnosis of sexually transmitted diseases as a manager, true
emotional reward came for me from treating my own patients
at high standards.
Réka Szandányi,
MD.
I graduated at the Semmelweis University of Medicine Faculty
of Medicine in 2001.
As a part of my residency I spent 6
months at an internal medicine department of the St. Rókus
Hospital, followed by another 6 months in intensive therapy
and emergency medicine practice.
In 2002 I started working at the Department of Dermatology
and Venereology, Semmelweis University Faculty of Medicine.
After completing my residency I worked as a trainee for another
3 years at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology.
During these years I have gained experiences in different
fields of dermatology, such as. oncology, immunology, and
general dermatology. I regularly presented our data at the
Budapest Case Presentations and the General Assembly of the
Hungarian Dermatological Society.
I also presented our scientific resukts at congresses dealing
with STD-s and pediatric dermatology.
I am a member of the Hungarian Dermatological Society and
the STD Association.
I am a founding member of the STD Center of the Department
of Dermatology and Venereology.
In 2007 I received my license in dermatology and venereology.
I intend to use my knowledge and experiences in accordance
with the principles of evidence based medicine in my own
practice.
